Wash and core apples about 3/4 of the way down the centre, leaving a base to contain the filling. Place them into an oven safe dish.
Mix the dry ingredients and spoon this mixture into the centre of each apple, filling all the way to the top.
Cut a small cube of butter for each apple and place this on top of the filling.
Pour the boiled water around the base of the apples.
Bake at 190°C for approximately 30-40 minutes, checking regularly. For smaller apples, you may want to check at the 20 minute mark to see if they are ready. Apples will be ready when they appear soft but not mushy.
When ready, remove the apples with tongs and place them into serving bowls. Wear oven mitts to carefully pour the remaining liquid over the apples.
Serve with yoghurt or ice cream and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe can be altered according to the size of your apples. The amount of filling and time required for baking can be adjusted depending on if your apples are small or large. For best results, I recommend keeping a close eye on your apples to determine when they are ready to come out of the oven.
