Appointment Types
A discovery session is a quick free chat with Johanna to discuss your health concerns and how clinical nutrition can help you.
At your first appointment, we will discuss your current and past health concerns for a thorough review and holistic understanding of your health.
Topics covered will include:
- a full overview of all body systems
- diet and lifestyle
- medical history
- supplements and medications
- environmental influences
We will determine the need for any testing, such as blood tests, or referrals, as required.
Follow up consultations are the second step to implementing your nutrition plan. We will dive deeper into complex cases and health conditions.
This is where we will review any test results, and develop your health plan and/or supplement protocol.
You will receive your nutrition plan.
In return consultations, we review the progress of your nutrition plan. If everything is on track, we can move on from short-term goals to long-term goals and update your nutrition plan as needed.
In most cases, repeat return consultations are encouraged in the initial stages. They are less frequent once your health stabilises.
Note: If it has been a while since your last consultation, please book for a follow up consultation to allow for more time so we can update your case history.
Acute consultations focus on presenting symptoms only. They are suitable for acute symptoms such as colds, viral infections or hay fever.
This type of consultation is not a substitute for seeking emergency medical help.
Sometimes it’s appropriate to obtain further information before establishing a nutrition plan. If I determine the need for further testing, I will discuss this with you. I will provide options and information so you can make an informed decision.
Outcomes of nutrition plans will vary for each individual and their presenting health complaint.
We are allowing the natural restorative process take the time it needs. Nutrition plans take a holistic and collaborative approach, target the root cause of disease, and put preventative measures into place.
Timeframes of results vary from one person to another. Generally, the longer you’ve experienced a health complaint, the longer it can take to see results.
I respect the time of my clients and my time as a practitioner. I ask that you give at least 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment time. This allows others to make a booking in the available time slot and you will avoid a cancellation fee.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment time will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Non-attendance will incur a cancellation fee equal to that of the full appointment fee. Cancellation fees are non-refundable.
