If you’ve ever wanted to experiment with your own flavoured chocolates, chocolate bark is for you!
This recipe is so simple and versatile, with the ability to transform into any flavour combination of your choosing. For a rich dark chocolate taste, use a 70% chocolate (I used Pana Organic Dark Chocolate Pieces).
If you have specific dietary needs, you can choose a chocolate that suits these, such as a gluten free or dairy free chocolate.
Chocolate Bark
Making your own chocolate at home is quick and simple with this chocolate bark recipe.
Ingredients
- 270 g dark chocolate (gluten free and/or vegan if required)
- Toppings of choice (see notes for inspiration)
Instructions
- Prepare your toppings and set aside. You might like to roughly chop some nuts or dried fruits now so that you aren't rushing once the chocolate has melted.
- Melt the dark chocolate using the double-boiler method or in the microwave, stirring frequently, until completely melted.
- Optional – If you prefer, you can mix your other ingredients into the chocolate now. This will result in them being incorporated in the chocolate bark once it has set, rather than them being visible on the top.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper and pour the melted chocolate into a square or rectangular shape. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to smooth out the chocolate, creating a 1cm thickness.
- Sprinkle your toppings over the chocolate and press lightly to ensure they will set into the chocolate.
- Refrigerate your chocolate bark for 30-60 minutes until set.
- Once set, use a sharp knife to chop your bark into pieces. Enjoy!
Notes
For this recipe, I used 2 packets of Pana Organic Dark Chocolate Pieces.
If you want to copy the same toppings I used (which were really yummy!), I used hulled and chopped pistachios, pine nuts, goji berries and shredded coconut.
